About NCIM

The National Council of Industrial Meteorologists (NCIM), founded in 1968, is a non-profit, professional association of meteorologists, principally engaged in the private practice of industrial and applied meteorological consulting. NCIM members represent many areas of professional specialization, including forensic meteorology, operational weather forecasting, air quality and environmental consulting, the collection or dissemination of meteorological data and weather resources management.

Individual NCIM members possess the Certified Consulting Meteorologist designation of the American Meteorological Society, or an equivalent certification approved by the Council. Members are expected to maintain a high level of technical proficiency in their field of specialization, and to represent the profession, through the clients they serve, in an ongoing ethical manner.
